The One Behind The Lens:
Hi! I’m Vanesa and I love traveling the world!
I was born and raised in a beautiful region of the north of Spain called Basque Country or Pais Vasco. I moved to the Pacific Northwest of the United States in 2007 and, after so many years here, I have found that “home is where your heart is”.
My love for photography started while adventuring around the world. I just fell in love with capturing moments. I took digital photography classes in college where I learned the basics of photography and photoshop. I have traveled to several countries in the world where I’ve been able to capture precious memories. I like to capture the perfectly imperfect moments.
I own an Instagram travel account named @maiaaroundtheworld where I share my photos around the world and throughout Washington State, as well as many travel tips with thousands of followers. I have partnered with several hotels/ resorts and travel brands through my social media.

SOME FACTS ABOUT ME
- I studied International Commerce in Spain but never worked in that field.
- I have lived in four different countries: Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, and the United States.
- I studied Nursing when I moved to the US and I work in the anesthesia and surgical services department of a hospital.
- I became a dancing instructor when I was a teenager and I taught bellydancing and performed for years.
- I’m also a Medical Interpreter and that was my main job while I was in Nursing School.
- I have traveled to many countries in the world and four continents.
- I love hiking and exploring.
- I am a mom of two little girls that come with me everywhere I go.
- I am fluent in both English & Spanish.
- I am pretty adventurous and open with food. My favorite meals are octopus, snails, and fried lamb brains 🙂
